在检方披露的最近一起事件中，一名未成年司机在父亲不知情的情况下驾驶父亲的汽车引发了交通事故，他逆向行驶并撞上一辆载有一家四口的车辆，造成人员受伤。
阿联酋交通法第51条规定，无证驾车将会被判三个月监禁或最高罚款5000迪拉姆，或罚款和监禁一起执行。
根据检方的说法，这名年轻人过去常常在下午偷偷地驾驶父亲的车，而他的父亲则在午睡，暑假期间，儿子常常带着小弟弟出去兜风。
检方表示，如果无照司机造成事故并导致人员死亡，法院将有可能对车主提起民事诉讼并要求赔偿。
