中国驻迪拜总领馆代总领事谭理表示，目前，有20多万中国外籍人士居住在阿联酋，其中约95％在迪拜，并且人数还在持续增加，此外，迪拜的中国穆斯林人数也在增加。
迪拜的中国穆斯林人数之所以不断增加，是因为迪拜是一个非常国际化的城市。它对其他文化包容开放，每个人都可以在这里找到自己的位置，所以大家都很高兴来到这里。

与2017年相比，2018年访问迪拜的中国游客数量增加了12％，达到875,000人，中国成为迪拜第四大游客来源。
阿联酋中国商会秘书长周光曜表示，有来自13家中国公司的约100名志愿者为此次开斋做出了贡献。
“阿联酋的所有中国公司都十分乐意为当地贡献微薄之力。 斋月是一个大家互相关爱、分享的好机会，”周光曜说道，”当看到我们的兄弟们为此感激我们时，我们心潮澎湃。这是我们第二年开展开斋活动，我们的目标是坚持每年都这么做。”
