被告的代表律师Mohammad Abdullah Al Redha指出，“当事人在迪拜生活期间一直奉公守法，没有任何犯罪意图。当他们意识到自己触法后亦已前往登记结婚。而且孩子需要母亲的照顾，希望法官轻判。”
最终，法庭对该夫妇判以三个月监禁缓期执行，并会将他们递解出境。该夫妇和检察官并未对判决提出上诉。
