此次中国国家电网收购阿曼电网股份的行为，也被视为在习主席提出“一带一路”倡议下，中国投资者对中东市场的兴趣与日俱增。
在惠誉评级（Fitch Ratings）中，阿曼是财政赤字最大的主权国家之一。油价的下跌伤害了该国的经济，这也迫使阿曼政府考虑其他经济来源，比如，该国一直在国际债务市场上筹集资金来弥补巨额赤字。
