道路交通管理局今天宣布，已经签署了价值1060万迪拉姆的维修合约拓展和升级迪拜的铁路交通系统。
届时，地铁绿线新增了11个站点；而地铁红线为了Expo2020也在进行一系列的升级。迪拜地铁在世博选址附近将延长约15公里。
将地铁线路延长15公里的工程将在今年年底开工，预计3年内完工。经过了几个月的测试，新的地铁路线预计将会在2020年5月20日之前正式运行，也就是世博会开始前的5个月。
世博会预计将会接待2500万游客。红色地铁线可以将Nakheel Harbour和Tower Station与Expo2020场馆连接，其中包括11.8公里的高架桥和3.2公里的地下通道。
红线将会新建7个地铁站台，一个站台与现有的地铁相连接，三个高架站台，两个位于地底的站台，以及一个位于Expo的主枢纽站台。同时也会新增加50架新地铁，届时每天可以承载12.5万名乘客。
最新的地铁线路并不仅仅为Expo的游客服务。如果你在迪拜投资园附近工作，并且厌倦了坐车去公司，那这对你也是个好消息。
Route 2020会在Expo站终止，但是路线会覆盖到Gardens， Discovery Gardens, Al Furjan, Jumeirah Golf Estates和Dubai Investments Park等地方。
